Living Colour is an owner-operated, Howick-based painting company. We take care with the prep, keep you in the loop and leave the place tidy.
Our story
A small company with a simple promise
Living Colour was set up in 2014 with a straightforward idea: do the job properly, tell people what’s going on, and leave their place better than you found it.
More than a decade later, that’s still how we work. The business has grown to paint homes, offices, shops and schools across Auckland, plus work in Wellington, but you still deal directly with the owner, who comes to look at the job, writes the quote, runs the team and checks the work before calling it finished.
Our background includes five years on new-build projects for Fletcher Living at Red Beach and Horncastle at Millwater, and two years of insurance reinstatement work for Vero. That mix of fast-paced building sites and careful repair work shapes how we run every job today: organised, safe and thorough.
Our name says what we love: bringing colour back into the places people live and work. Our tagline says what we want for you: we paint, we repair, you relax.

Regular updates, honest answers and progress photos when you can’t be there. It’s the thing our customers mention most.
We quote in detail
Our quotes spell out the prep, the products and the timing, so you can compare properly and know exactly what you’re getting.
We manage the job
Scaffolders, cleaners, a colour specialist: if your job needs them, we organise them. You deal with one person.
We fix it first
Filling, sanding, minor timber and plaster repairs, tiling and waterproofing. We sort the surface before we paint it.
We turn up
On time for the quote, on time for the job, and Saturdays when you need us. Short notice? Ask, and we’ll be straight with you.
We leave it tidy
Protected floors and gardens, a clean site each day and a final walk-through before we pack up.

Quality paint from brands you know
We use Resene and Dulux paints, two of New Zealand’s best-known brands, and choose the product to suit the surface and conditions. Already have a colour chart or a brand in mind? Just tell us.
